Massage Classes


**​ Important - always check with your baby’s doctor to see if infant massage is okay for your baby before registering for any of the classes.

Infant Massage - Basics
1 hour and a half class and one 30 minute one on one hands on practice with you and your child

class description
This class is an hour and a half. Infant massage is for expectant parents, new parents, parents of young children, grandparents and caregivers. It is an excellent way to connect and bond with the baby. The basics class helps teach you the beginning techniques and how to perform them on the infant.

I will discuss the benefits, the technique, oils and lotions, how to set up for a good massage session with your child, and what to think about ahead of time.

We will practice the techniques on a doll. I will first demonstrate using a doll and then I will watch as you practice. The class may or may not be in a group setting depending on how many people sign up to attend the class.

​A separate 30 minute session will be a hands on one on one session with your child. This session will be scheduled when you sign up for the class.

Materials: A baby doll as life-size as you can. A blanket, lotion or coconut oil will work but please note that it is recommended to not use any oil or lotion on children under 4 weeks old.

Infant Massage - Colic, Illness, & Medical Issues
1 hour and a half class and one 30 minute one on one hands on practice with you and your child

class description
This class is an hour and a half and one 30-minute hands on one on one session. Prerequisite: Completion of Infant Massage Basics or demonstration of skills.

We will discuss using massage to help bring a fever down, ease congestion, help with gas and colic, We will also discuss a premature baby's, special needs, or other possible challenges. An additional technique will be taught so you will need to have your doll to practice on.

We will first practice on our dolls in class. Then a separate 30 minute session will be hands on with you and your child. This session will be set when you sign up for the class.

Massage for Older Children & Creating Sibling Bonding
1 hour and a half class and one 30 minute one on one hands on practice with you and your child

class description
This class is one hour and a half and one 30-minute hands on one on one session. Prerequisite: Completion of Infant Massage Basics or demonstration of skills.

This massage class will show you how to deal with changes as your child grows and the continued benefit of massage. In this class we will discuss the bonding that can be created with older siblings and a new baby. We will also touch on continued massage as your child grows into toddler and childhood. We will be mostly discussing the process and the differences in technique with a little bit of practice on your doll.

In the hands on session we will be going over the practice with you and your own child.  The one on one hands on session will be set when you sign up for the class.

Basic Intro to Reiki

class description
This 90-minute basics class is a great way to find out what Reiki is or see if you would like to learn more about Reiki and possibly become a Reiki practitioner yourself. You will learn how to do a short self-healing protocol as well as the basic information about Reiki and some of the history of this practice.

Reiki Level I

class description
This is a 12-hour class and will be taught over 4 weeks.

Complete Introduction to the ancient energetic healing art of Reiki, with certification in Level I Reiki and initiation.

In this class we will go deeper into the history of Reiki. We will discuss and learn about the practice and levels of Reiki. At the end of the class everyone will receive 3 attunements.

We will have in-person labs where we will practice Reiki. Depending on the class size and the current social distancing restrictions these maybe done on a one on one or in groups of maximum of 3.
